My favourites.

We all have, don’t we?  Favourites – books, clothes, movies, actors, writers, bloggers…the list goes on. We have a soft corner for these favourites. And,if they happen to be our favourite people, then anything they do, how ever they do it, we appreciate them, admire them. We become their die-hard fans. And, they, our idols.  It’s as if, they can do no wrong!

Since stepping into the world of blogging, I have met some amazing people, who are not just great writers, but wonderful human beings, as well. Interacting with them, reading and learning from their work and receiving their guidance, has made these bloggers my favourites.  I have become quite partial towards these people, for whom there is a special place in my heart.  I consider every post of their’s a masterpiece (which they may never agree, but I am not paying any heed!)

Pawan Hegde, the first blogger, who really admired my writing (wonder what he felt worth admirable there!) is terrific at fiction. His stories have to be read to be enjoyed. It has been ages since he wrote a good story (well, every story of his is good). I now wait for the day, when he will publish one of his incredible pieces of fiction and amaze the world with his talent!

Shailaja V., is my darling. Period. Her posts leave me enlightened and entertained. At times, rather mostly, I wish her posts were like those books you wish were never-ending. I can read her work non-stop, without a break. The language, the narration, the easy flow of her poems, beautifully penned…it leaves me speechless every time.

Sid Balachandran, a writer par excellence. His Daddy Journals make for interesting reads about his life as a dad. His fiction, well, all I can say is, I am waiting for that autographed copy of his book which will be published, very soon!

Cathy Graham, a dear friend, whom I met at Blog-A-Rhythm, writes poetry that seems to flow from her fingers with such ease. She makes it all seem so simple. Inspired by her writing, I tried my hand at poetry, and failed miserably. Her poems and her bird pictures instantly brighten me up on a dull and gloomy day.

Carol Graham is an inspiration. A tougher soul, I have yet to meet. And, facing all odds and surging ahead with her head held high, she has encouraged and motivated many a souls through her blog. I bow to her courage and to the love she gives every soul she meets.

These wonderful people are not just incredible bloggers, but truly beautiful human beings. Helpful and kind, with their words of encouragement, they have taught me so much. Each time I have needed help, they have been there, whole-heartedly. I read an actor’s interview once, where he said that to be a good actor, you need to be a good human being. I so agree with him. To be good at anything you do in life, you first need to be a good human being. And, these wonderful people have been just that. It shows in their writing! It shows in the way they interact with others and conduct themselves in life. I have  not met a single one of these gems.  But, I can vouch for their genuineness with all my heart.

Do visit them at their realms and I am sure you will come back overwhelmed, happy and contented.

Thank you so much, Shilpa. And it won't be long before your book becomes a reality too.
Here's a thought though – you must write an illustrated book, combining both your talents 🙂

  4. Great post Shilpa and I can say that you are a nice human being. Calling out the good work of others is in itself the quality of good people! Happy Tuesday!
