A pleasant surprise.

Life does that. Springs surprises when you are least expecting any. And  you are left baffled, overwhelmed, ecstatic, and, surprised, too! You find it unbelievable that such a thing could happen with you. And, it takes a lot of probing and analysing to finally accept that something this unimaginable could happen to you, too!

The above emotions are  what I went through when I received a message from the Manager of Baggout that my blog had been selected as one of the 15 best love and relationships blogs in India. I must have read the message 5 times and still found it unbelievable. In fact, I thought someone was playing a prank. I made enquiries, tried finding out all about Baggout and went back to where I was – in a state of utter disbelief! Call it low self esteem if you wish, but I wondered how  anyone could find my one and a half year old blog worthy of any such mention.

The feeling was  good, nay, great. But, unless I saw it all in black and white, how could I believe it?  Eventually, after sending a whole lot of prayers heavenwards, I sent them my picture which they wanted to attach with a short paragraph about me and my blog on their website. And, then I waited. And waited. And, waited some more. But an entire week passed by and not a word I heard!  And, then, just like that, out of the blue, I received an email from the manager informing  that the article had been published on their blog and that I could visit it and hope I enjoyed the post! I was elated!

It did feel wonderful to get some attention, some mention, for something that has been my hobby, my passion for a little more than a year. And, considering the number of  heavy-weights out there, who are prolific writers in a league of their own, I felt humbled by this ‘windfall’! I know, I have a long long way to go, before I can brag about my accomplishments! I know, I have a lot to learn about expressing my feelings intelligently and that I am just a drop in the ocean, but it feels nice to be rubbing shoulders with my seniors, to be mentioned alongside the old-timers.

So, for this mention, for this encouragement, I would like to thank Baggout, and for all the wonderful compliments, I would like to thank my dear friends. It feels superb! God bless you all!
