My friend, Debbie, is hosting a blog fest – 30 odd questions – a ‘getting-to-know-you’ fun questionnaire that she found at Emily’s World.
I have answered the questions as truthfully as I could, so read on!
1 What did you want to be when you were a kid?
I remember very well, I first wanted to be a veterinarian and then a teacher.
2 Which “Friends” character do you relate to the most? Why?
Monica Gellar Bing, of course! I am obsessed with neatness and orderliness, although, I find myself mellowing with age, and can excuse the occasional messy scene at home.
3 Do you like your name?
As a kid, I wished mother had picked some exotic name like Amrapali, or something sweet, like Avantika! I did fall in love with my name later, when I heard my dance class student stating how aptly I had been named! Shilpa means ‘a work of art’! (Thanks mom-dad!).
4 Are you messy or neat?
Neat. But, as I said, I do allow some mess from time to time, so as not to lose my sanity!
5 How tall are you?
Five feet two and a half inches tall. (I always make it a point to add the “and a half “: it does wonders to my self-esteem!
6 How tall were you when you were 10?
Umm..I don’t remember…a few inches shorter, I guess!
7 What is your guilty pleasure?
Being a fitness freak, anything that I indulge in (food/drink) that goes against the principles of healthy living is my guilty pleasure! Except the occasional Vodka! Hehe
8 What are you saving money for right now?
Well, I am not making any money to be able to save any, so, …But, I am sure building a lot many castles in the air!
9 How many Pringles can you eat at once?
I can eat as many as I will find in the container. Provided the flavour is of my liking!
10 Tea or coffee?
Coffee..always! Made with chilled milk, with extra sugar.
11 Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
I was an introvert. I still am, at times. But, I would like to think of myself as an ambivert. It all depends on my company, really. If the people around me are oh-so-boring or pretentious, then I am an introvert! ;P
12 What will be your Halloween costume?
We don’t celebrate Halloween in my part of the world.
13 Sweet or salty?
Both, alternately. Sweet – salty – sweet – salty – sweet – you get the drift?
14 Favourite social media?
Instagram for its superb pictures and videos. Especially, the food pictures!
15 Who is the last person you kissed?
I kissed my pet, Chikoo’s picture frame first thing in the morning, and then my pet parakeet, Cookie.
16 What is your favourite breakfast?
Oats/muesli in yogurt with dates and/or pomegranate.
17 When is your birthday?
8th of June. I am a two-faced Gemini, so be careful…what you see, is not necessarily what you get!
18 When did you start your blog?
December 2013.
19 What is your opinion on the Kardashians?
Thankfully for me, I don’t follow them. Who ARE they, anyway?
20 How would you describe your style?
Simple (and, hopefully, classy)!
21 What colour is your hair?
Dark brown- reddish brown – in short, hennaed.
22 What colour socks are you wearing?
Not wearing any socks right now. But, I prefer white, or in pastel shades.
23 What is your dream job?
Debbie’s job is my dream job! Dog-sitter! Cheers to you, Debbie!
24 Dogs or cats?
Dogs!
25 What makes you weird?
NOTHING makes me weird! Erm, I guess, I ought to ask hubby/friends if I display any weirdness.
26 Celebrity crush?
Richard Gere and Gordon Ramsay.
27 Opinion on cigarettes?
Those things should be BANNED!
28 Do you want/have children? How many?
We are childless by choice.
29 Three favourite boy names.
Anirudh. Akash. Abhimanyu.
30 Three favourite girl names.
Avantika. Anamika. Amrapali.
It was an interesting round of questions and it was good to know more about you Shilpa. I also love Richard Gere and muesli is my favourite breakfast too.

Lovely tag. Will probably take this up too. And it’s pure evil that you and I eat the same amount of Pringles and you get to look good while I look like a bean bag!!! (yes, yes. I may be missing that exercising thing but still!!!)

Hey! This is great, doc! We do have some things in common, don’t we?And, I really ought to consider myself lucky that the Pringles don’t really affect me! Do try this post, it will be great knowing more about you! 🙂

Ah yes, I’d love Debbie’s job too. Given the dearth of pet housing facilities in Hyderabad, I keep hounding (yes, I deliberately used that one!) my husband for us to start one. In Mumbai, our Pablo loved Perfect Pooch!
It was great getting to know you better, Shilpa. I love reading posts like this, but strangely don’t like writing them!

I can understand, Corinne. Our fur babies don’t have the kind of care centres like they deserve. And, that’s why I feel Debbie is doing such a wonderful job! I would love to do the same! 🙂

Thanks for joining the blogfest! 🙂 It was great to learn more about you and I am thrilled we have so much in common: dog lover, child-free (by choice), coffee lover, etc. Richard Gere sure has aged beautifully, hasn’t he? 😀 As for Gordon Ramsay, I love his blunt, ‘no holds barred’ attitude. It is wonderful to have a job you truly enjoy. I’m so lucky! Cheers to you, Shilpa.

This is the second post on this blog tag and I have really liked getting to know you in such an instant manner – short and sweet answers which do give great insights into your personality.
Did we all grow up wishing our parents had named us something exotic!!! How would it be if parents would tell their kids to decide their names!!! We would see some creativity there for sure 😉

High five to you, Shalz! He sure is a dreamboat!
Yeah, if our parents had left the naming part to us, we sure would have come up with all sorts of names…much to their embarrassment! hehe..
