Weird title, eh? I mean, we all have sinned some time or the other. Nobody’s a saint here! But, it’s the hashtag that changes the entire meaning of ‘sin’ on my blog, and especially, on this post! For on flavoursome Tuesdays we don’t indulge in any kind of moral talks, do we? It’s food… glorious, mouth-watering, sinful food all the way!
However, I am going to keep this post real short today. No foodie tales or anecdotes revolving around food. My batteries are low, my hormones have all ganged up against me and left me in a lurch. And, the only way to fight that is conjure images of foods that get me going, that bring me alive and assure me there’s still hope at the end of the tunnel, and dessert at the end of a meal!
Forgive me if I sound cuckoo!
Sharing today my list of sin-foods that I can have for the rest of my life, each day, every day. Of course, I will definitely need something savoury every now and then, but these sweeties are my life line. Seriously. And, if ever you and I decide to meet and you think of gifting me something, let it be any from the list below. It will make you my favourite person on the face of this planet! Tee-hee!
So, here goes…
My favourites:
Chocolates.
Anything that has chocolate as an ingredient (NOT moisturisers/lip balms, mind you!) Or, wait a minute. That will do, too. I love all those pampering potions!
Okay, let me make it easier for you. Pastries/Cakes/ice creams, and the like. All of it together, will also do. But, I need a packet of chips, or a tin of Pringles for a change of taste.
Bengali mithai .
Kaju Katli.
Rice kheer, and basundi – both chilled, not hot.
And,
Umm…
(Umm….I can’t believe it! I AM BLANK! That’s all I can manage today, folks! SO sorry!)
See? This is what I meant by “short post”. This is how low my batteries are right now! The ‘brain freeze’ has numbed the whole of me, and this is all I can conjure up at the moment. It is going to take me a while to get back to my normal self again. Maybe I will feel much better if I actually indulge in some ‘sinful activity’ !
So, what about you? Have you sinned? Let me know which are your favourite sins and I will gift those to you if we ever happen to meet. That’s how love multiplies!
Do share your foodie stories with me and Sunita at #Flavoursome Tuesdays. It’s calming talking about food, you know?

I don’t think you need any more words. Whatever you wrote is enough to make my tummy grumble in agony. 😀

Hahaha….AGONY is the right word, Raj! Agony is what one feels when one reads about/sees these ‘sweeties’ but can’t grab a handful to munch on! 😀

I love chocolate and all things sweet. Unfortunately, so does my waistline and my pre-diabetic status. SO I have to be careful and not binge.
But when we meet, rest assured I shall come bearing gifts of all things sweet from your list 🙂

And, so sorry that you can’t enjoy these delicacies as much as you would like to! But, I am so happy to know that you haven’t totally given up sweets. ZIndagi mein thodi mithaas honi zaroori hai! 🙂

This is a sinfully delightful topic. Mmmm I love Indian sweets. Traditional, Bengali, South Indian, anything sweet. I like chocolates too but Indian mithai is what I love.

Isn’t it God’s gift to mankind – this sweet tooth that we have been blessed with, Lata? 🙂

You know what Ma’am? I sin a lot if that’s what you want to know… Lol (I mean in regards to food…)
I am a foodie. I live in Kolkata and Chinese live here. They have colonies here. There’s one where I live currently. There colony is called ‘China Town’. They have many restaurants where we get authentic Chinese food. And they allure us to come, devour and commit sin again and again. So, Wanton soup, Meat Ball soup, Chillie Prawn, Sweet Baby Corn, Smoked Lamb, Gravy Chowmein are my favourite sinful delicacies.
Apart from that I love my wife’s Maggie… which I can commit at my will. 😉
Great post. Thanks for inviting to talk about my sin. Stay Blessed!

You are indeed lucky to be living in China Town where you get all the goodies you mentioned! All that food can make one go weak in the knees and commit sin, over and over again!
Maggie sounds good too! Great, in fact! Good for you!
You are most welcome to share your stories around food. We would love it!
Thank you for visiting!

Thankyou for linking my blog. My sins – chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate. Almost any chocolate will do, but my true weakness is Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. And, yes, Cadbury’s – not the stuff sold in the United States but the true British kind, which I haven’t had in years. Especially the fruit and nut bar.

Chocolate is a blessing for us humans, Alana! If we hadn’t had chocolate in this world, our lives would have been so incomplete! 😛
Mmm…peanut butter cups…sounds yumm!! ❤

I love all the sweets you have mentioned and need the chips to change the taste and get me back to neutral before attacking the sweets again 🙂 I am not a great cook but I like to experiment with food and create new recipes, occasionally 🙂 Will share mine in your Tuesdays posts, soon .

Ooh chocolates! You know that is my cure all for all kinds of problems. 🙂 What else do I love? I love spicy, chatpata food to cheer me up — paani puri, aloo tikki, spicy karela chips, sabudana vada, vada pav, pav bhaji… You get the hang of it. I also love Bengali mithai like rosogolla, rasmalai. Most Indian sweets I don’t enjoy but cakes, mousse, custard — all good. Now I am feeling hungry. 🙂

OOohhh, Rachnaaaa!!!
What have you done, yaar! Now I want to go out and have some chaat, too!
But, yeah, chocolates are a cure for every problem, for sure. Right from PMS to loneliness!
I too love rasgulla and malai sandwich (I can have a few in one sitting…calories be damned!) But, I am not fond of jalebi, or gulab jamun, etc…
Chal, when we meet, we can have all our fav and bond over some more! 😛

For me, rich dark coffee or rich, dark and bitter chocolate is the ultimate sin. In small doses though. I’m not a big fan of sweets, but hey we all have the right to sin!
