“Health is wealth!”
As cliched as it may sound, the status of our health makes a lot of difference to our life. You may have everything you could ask for, but if you are in the worst of health, you won’t be able to enjoy it all!
That’s elementary!
We have no control over Life; we never know what might happen in the future. However, taking care of our present in every way we can is the best we can do for our future selves.
Caring for my health and wanting to inspire others to do, too, prompted me to make health the main theme of Metanoia.
‘Health’ as a category gives a wide scope to a blogger. You could write about anything – from hair care, to foot care! So, that gives me countless ideas to work on. Health, in combination with food and nutrition makes for the perfect Wellness Blog, provided you keep your posts original.
There’s the option of writing on physical health, mental health as well as spiritual health and wellbeing.
Ever since I began writing health posts, I began looking after myself better. So, I would suggest, as well as encourage you, to make yours a Wellness Blog if you, too, have the zest to live a full and a healthy life. And, also wish the same for others.
Research is, of course, paramount. But, do make sure to use your signature style to present it. Add to it your personal experiences, or those of your family/friends. That will make all the difference. It’s the genuineness that comes across, loud and clear.
Any health issues you may have faced, or a diet/fitness plan that may have helped you, will definitely encourage others to try it out. It helps, though, if you back your writing with reliable information, for the sake of your readers.
I am not very well versed with the technical side of Health/Nutrition, as such, so, I refrain from writing from that angle. Not all of us are Science graduates, and hence, lack knowledge about medical terms/ scientific names of certain disorders, chemical substances, etc.
It is really simple. Writing about something you are an authority on, makes your posts authentic.
All you need to do is do your homework well in advance. Make a list of topics you could write about and then work on them, in detail.
Participating in blogging contests related to health, food, nutrition also gives you a chance to write about varied topics.
It also gives your blog the attention from other Wellness bloggers, along with tips to better your writing or suggestions for uncommon blogposts. Add to that, you get invitations to do Guest Posts for Wellness websites that can give your blog some extra traffic, as well as put it in the spotlight!
The possibilities are countless. All you need to do is prepare to work hard and give your posts that special X factor that will make them stand apart!
That’s an advice I would give myself, too!
My theme for the A to Z Blogging Challenge is all about my blog, Metanoia, and my blogging journey from the time I started, 5 years ago. The lessons I learnt, the tips and tricks I picked up from fellow bloggers and the guidelines I could have used back when I began.
You will find all of my A to Z posts here.
I admire the fact that you mention two crucial things: One, write from whatever you know which is important because it lends authenticity to the writing. Two, don’t write anything which you don’t know. Equally important.
And of course, it’s paramount that we care for ourselves. Without health we have nothing.

Health is wealth, I know it the hard way. I used to be careless about my health but now I have become extremely conscious after a bad health scare in 2015. Good post Shilpz.

Good points on how to write when you do not have much knowledge on the subject.

Its a nice way of looking at it Shilpa. As as you begin writing on Health, you also begin to look inwards and better your own body mind and soul.

I used to take my health for granted earlier and was plagued with hormone problems. Around sometime last year, I decided to take my health into my own hands and care for it seriously. There has been no looking back since then.
A very vital post, Shilpa.

Health and nutrition are areas of interest to me and I read extensively on these subjects. I’ve also done a couple of certification courses on nutrition. As you rightly pointed out, always research the information you put out there and definitely speak from your experience. Health is definitely wealth.

I so admire the information you give in your health and food posts, Rachna. The knowledge you possess shows in every word. And it becomes that much easier for the readers to understand and follow the tips you give, trusting that they come from a reliable source.
