Share your blog 2020

I started blogging seven years ago, back in 2013, when I hadn’t even heard the word ‘BLOG’. Then, it was a whole new world for me as I knew nothing about technology and how to put it to good use. A friend urged me (pushed me, actually!) to pen down my thoughts, create a blog, and get going.

Today, seven years down the line, I must say it was the best advice I got back then. For, not only did I get a chance to voice my views, and vent out my pent up feelings, but I also discovered a whole new side to me that I didn’t know existed!

Over the years I met some really beautiful souls in the blogosphere who helped me, guided me, and taught me so much; I can’t thank them enough for all that they have done for me.

Being a loner, an introvert, I also met fellow-introverts, who inspired me to appreciate the person I was and revel in my uniqueness.

Today, I would say that blogging has been one of the few best things that have happened to me; it’s a passion, a fascination and a therapy I turn to for the happiness that I look for in my everyday life.

It’s also the community that I have become a part of that adds to the joy. I have in my life people who I haven’t even met in the real world, but who feel like soul mates; people who have become friends for life, who seem to intuitively know when I am feeling low or when I need some encouragement and motivation to get back on track, and reach out, instantly.

It’s these people I wish to celebrate today. People, who belong to the blogging community, are the only ones who will ever understand a blogger’s anxiety, nervousness, edginess, and stress–emotions that we experience when we share a post that holds our deepest secrets, our impassioned rantings or even the mundane stuff that we get off our chest through our posts.

It’s only a blogger, who will ever know and understand how we feel when we go through a gamut of emotions worrying about the reaction we might ignite with our words. A blogger, who will be by our side, wrapping us up in the much-needed emotional blanket of love we need in that hour.

Today, I wish to thank each and every one of you who have visited my blog, shared your feelings, views, and opinions; who have encouraged me, and cheered me up with your words when I needed them the most.

I also wish to take this opportunity to get to know you all better. It’s from this blog post that I read on The Captain’s Speech that I picked up this idea. I loved it and I am sure so will you.

All you need to do is, introduce yourself, share with me a little bit about yourself–your likes, dislikes, pet peeves–share with me when and how we met in the virtual world, and then leave a link to your blog. I promise to visit you all.

It’s also through this post that you will meet new bloggers you might want to visit, who share your interests, and whom you could add to your circle of bloggers. It’s all for celebrating the community feeling that holds us all together.

So, share away!

And, thanks again, for all the love and kindness. It’s what truly makes the world a better place!

I would LOVE it if you leave behind a comment instead of just ‘Liking’ this post, guys! πŸ˜‰

Thank you!

  1. So the first comment is to be mine πŸ™‚
One day I thought which was the first post of mine where we connected in the comment section. I went back searching. I found the post and I discovered the ease in our communication. The fun nature of your comment saw an instant tie-up with me. It was completely effortless. Remember, you wanted to be named Anamika πŸ˜€

I’m not a very regular on social media so I do go missing many a times. Have been reading you more ever since I started writing on the monthly writetribe.

Thank you for sharing with me a little bit about your blogging journey.
I too started on Blogger before moving to WordPress. And, yes, A2Z is a place where we get to meet so many bloggers and connect with those who we can relate to, and learn from.
        Thank you for visiting Metanoia!

  2. Wonderful post. I just discovered the world of blogging last year. I didn’t realize all the wonderful writings, thoughts, emotions and information that existed beyond the first few pages of a google search. Those writers are the heart and soul of the Internet. I have enjoyed reading these blogs tremendously. I too have met and worked with some amazing people. I blog in the niche of health and fitness. I am a breast cancer survivor that turned her life around through healthy living. I started blogging to share my personal challenge of running a marathon. And I haven’t stopped blogging. I love it too. I want to help others develop healthy habits and thrive. I blog on Pink Ribbon Runner. Thank you for this post.

You are doing such a wonderful job of sharing about your battle with cancer and how to change one’s life through healthy living. It’s the need of the hour, considering the kind of unhealthy lifestyle we lead these days. Glad to have connected with you, Patricia!
I visited your blog last week and came across all the helpful information you have posted there. More power to you!

  3. Hi, Shilpa! I believe we first met when you shared one of your posts under the #MondayBlogs hashtag on Twitter.

Hello to everyone else as well. I look foward to getting to know all of you.

My name is Lydia Schoch. I’m a science fiction writer and blogger. My site talks about science fiction, fantasy, fitness, and meditation. Sometimes I share funny or interesting stories from my life, too. πŸ™‚

Other than those topics, I love talking about food, art, photography, and science (especially astronomy or anything related to fossils, extinct species, or how people lived thousands of years ago). I especially love visiting museums and spending time out in nature.

Yes, we met through Monday Blogs, and it’s been wonderful reading your posts. To be frank, I haven’t visited you in quite some time so I am definitely going to pay you a visit soon. Most of the topics you spoke about here are also the ones I like reading about. πŸ™‚

  4. Congratulations on building your beautiful space on the web, Shilpa. Here’s wishing you many more multiples of 7 years! ❀

Blogging is a wonderful part of my life. I started in 2003 when Google acquired Blogger and it was fascinating to create a web page/blog, write what I wanted to, and publish for the whole world to see. Of course I’ve become more focused over the years and the best part of blogging is the personal growth and meeting wonderful people. Today I have six active blogs and absolutely enjoy them all.

Your first comment on my blog was in Feb 2016. I am not sure how we met, but I guess it could be via the BAR. Do you remember how we met?

    1. Vidya, I think I first read your post about your mother and found a lot of similarities between her and my mom. I think that’s how we met.
Wow! 6 blogs! I wonder how you do it, Vidya!
Your enthusiasm is contagious–you know, I created my third blog in December for my essay writing; my second one is for fiction! πŸ˜›
Thank you so much for the love and encouragement, Vidya! Wish you too happy blogging ❀

  5. What do I write? I started blogging on the blogger platform somewhere in 2009, I think. I have left blogging and come back to it many times. I have discovered a different me everytime I com back. My kids were in junior school when I started off. Now they are both in college. I am an introvert too. And I met you through The WT/Frangipani Group. I have enjoyed reading your posts, and I am looking forward to reading many more in the future. – That’s my new website

Yes, we met through the Frangipani Creative and it’s been wonderful knowing you through your comments on my posts and also through your blog posts.

  6. Anu’s memory was such a beautiful one. Truly, I thought just like Anu where it all started. Now I have to do a bit of digging, but if I remember right, once I found you are a Gemini, I felt so much better and connected. And Anu told me she is also one. So I just named us as the Gemini Trio. I love it when you drop by my blog and share your comment. I have always felt our thoughts match – be it being anxious or being honest with ourselves. It’s all so similar. I guess we 3 must form a small group and chit chat. 🀭

  7. Wow, that is wonderful. I agree with you that blogging has brought us together us friends whom we may have not met outside the online world. I’ve been blogging for almost 8 years now. I started with poetry and even now poetry remains my favourite kind of post on the blog. I don’t remember when exactly we connected but it has been nice reading your posts.

  8. What a beautiful story! Thanks for sharing. I started blogging when I finished school at the end of 2011. I wrote on and off during my university years. When I started working full time my blog took a back seat. Now that I run my own business, I’ve encorporated blogging into my marketing strategy so that I can write regularly again about the things I enjoy. My blog is and I write about a range of topics from running a small business, being an empath, Pinterest management, Instagram and social media in general.

I too started with personal essays and then moved to wellness writing. Now I am also writing fiction and essays on two other blogs I created for fun. I enjoy it all so much and the community bonding that takes place in the comments section is what keeps me going!

  10. I really enjoyed reading about your journey as a blogger, Shilpa. It was very inspiring. I myself started blogging in 2006, and I had no idea that anyone would actually read my blog posts. That was long before I had ever heard of blogging challenges and facebook groups and other ways of connecting with bloggers from all over the world. Over the years, blogging has changed my life. Because of blogging, I have grown as a writer and as a photographer. Plus I’ve made so many friends online. It has truly been a great adventure.

It’s something that gives me a reason to look forward to my day, to activities that involve me sharing something more than about life in general.
Thank you so much for visiting, Alice, and for sharing with me about your blogging journey.

  11. What a fabulous post to start my Monday morning, Shilpa! Congratulations on the 7 beautiful years of blogging, my friend! You have evolved along this journey and how!!! I’m so blessed that I’ve met so many amazing people through my blog and I cherish the opportunity to have met a beautiful soul like you and especially how we connected through our writings. I think our connection really deepened since the time you started blogging for Metanoia. And now, we chat every now and then and I know we will always be there for one another to rant, share, crib, listen to, no matter what! I’ve been blogging for five years now and have had two blogs until some time back to share soulful musings on life, random photography collections and travel anecdotes. As a co-host of the weekly blog hop #wordlesswednesday, I really love the many new bloggers who I connect with on a regular basis. Thank you for being an inspiration to many like me who always find wonderful posts on your blog and a friend who never fails to leave some very thoughtful comments on their posts as well.
Wishing you more power, my friend. May 2020 bring you even more accomplishments and adventures on the blogging front and may you evolve to be the best version of who you wish to be.
    Much love and hugs

Your blog, my dear, is what prompted me to start my third blog for essay writing, and I am now working to achieving superiority in my writing, all thanks to you. It’s you who inspires me to put in my best, whatever topic I write about.

  14. Hello! I’m kind of new and kind of not new to blogging (it’s a very long story – I sort of left then came back). One of my favourite parts of blogging was reading these kinds of posts and raiding the comments section for new blogs to follow.

I started nearly three years ago but then went on a slight rampage and deleted everything but now I’m starting again! I’m now over at and I can’t wait to read more of your posts as well as find others in the comments here. As someone that once had a pretty big blog on this platform (and now don’t), I just want to say thank you for using your platform to let others grow their blogs! πŸ™‚

  15. Hey Shil,

I started blogging from the December of 2017. And I had begun the groundwork almost 9 months ahead of that. I totally resonated with the amount of apprehension & eagerness about launching the blog & getting to network with other bloggers & my future readers.

I only dreamt of connecting with my audience then, and networking with co-bloggers was not something I really looked forward to. Perhaps, I was never actually aware that with writing, you weave an entire community of like-minded people; be it the audience that relates to what you want to say or, other bloggers who are part of the same journey as yours. I never took part in any writing challenge in my initial months. But then I’m so glad that (if my memory’s accurate here!), I found you through Sunita Ma’am’s blog on a recipe/food post. You both were hosting Tasty Tuesdays together. And then I saw you consistently on the BAR group & Frangipani Creative group. I remember it was the summer 2018 that I first interacted with you & it was such a pleasant feeling reading your post on turning 45. I swear, I was shell-shocked to know that you weren’t my age, let alone being 40+. You just don’t look your age, girl!

We share so much in common. And I’m blessed to be knitted in a close & loving group of people like us, and then later with Shailaja’s Bootcamp as well.

You’re right. Blogging is another beautiful world whose people are always with you in mind, & there to pump you with a morale when nobody else seems to make sense of what you’re going through. This goes beyond friendships we make through kindergarten, school, college or office. Doesn’t it?
