Its nearly 4, and there is laundry to be taken care of, of all the things! I let out a sigh and stretch my stiff body, trying to waken it from its slumber party. The movement stirs him and he holds me down, mumbling something about not leaving him alone. Oh! My heart aches, and my mind refuses to obey my body, which now wants to get off the bed, and get into some action.
I promise to be back in a jiffy. He tightens his grip on my hand and begs me to forget the work, forget the world, and stay with him. But, a tight hug and a big kiss helps me get my way!
His eyes follow me everywhere I go; as I do the laundry, as I fold the clothes, as I finish the rest of the chores. They don’t leave me alone for a single moment. I smile at him and send him a flying kiss. He returns it with a wink. I stifle a giggle as he winks again! He yawns lazily and stretches, still sleepy, and invites me to join him, winking at me, again.
Its evening, already. No more lazing around at this hour. I coax him to wake up and join me for my evening cuppa. He yawns, a long, sleepy yawn. My god, does this man want to wake up, or not? I look at him in the eye, raise an eyebrow and smile, suggestively. His sleep flies out of the window, and he is at once alert. He instantly gets my message, loud and clear.
Off he jumps from the bed, landing perfectly on all fours. He rushes to get his leash and begins barking, impatiently, urging me to take him for his evening walk!
That was a snippet of our — mine and Chikoo’s — daily schedule. The perfection with which we understand each other, baffles me, at times. But, it also warms my heart as I realise, that I, too, read my child’s mind as any other mother does. And,it gives me immense happiness as I realise, that my child reads my mind, and my eyes, as any other child does!
Hope you all enjoyed it!
