Quote of the day.

I read a post by my friend, Shailaja, (you may read it here), and was inspired to pick a quote out of the many that have left a mark on my mind. I have come across many a quotes, which inspire, motivate, teach us a valuable lesson in times of need. Here is one such, which I read today, and which actually opened my eyes. It just popped up on my screen, as if it was sent just for me! Read on..I hope it does the same for you!

Life can get lonely at times. As much as I treasure my space, my solitude, there are times, when I crave company. And, it is precisely at such times, that I find myself alone. And, it is at such times, that I go seeking people.  No, I don’t find it embarrassing sharing such very personal stuff about myself, because I am human. And, I am sure, there are countless like me around, sailing in the same boat.
We do make life miserable for ourselves.  We hand over the reins of our happiness to someone who, for all we know, might throw away those reins and watch us  go careening down the depths of despair! The fact, that our happiness lies in our own hands, gets the royal ignore from us ignoramuses! But,  thankfully, realisation dawns upon us when some well-meaning, caring people knock some sense into our heads. Realisation dawns, when out of nowhere,  precious words fall on our ears like lightning, and bring us back to reality, thus saving us from the anguish we led ourselves into.
I chanced upon a quote, which seemed to be aimed at me, and me alone! It just hit me  square in the face and brought me back to reality, back to life! One of my favourite actors, Mr. Will Smith, quoted these words and did a world of good to me! I hope it hits many more people out there, and compels them to rethink things and make a fresh start.

  1. I really like this quote, Shilpa. Will Smith is a person I admire for a number of reasons besides his acting skills and his ideals are something I truly look up to. It's very well put and I think, worth practising, as we walk down this path called Life. Be you. It's the best you that you can be. As he says, the right people will not only come, but stay with you all along.

Thank you so much for the mention, my dear 🙂

  2. Wonderful article, dear Shilpa. It really resonated with me and I feel the same way about my solitude. I enjoy it to a point but then find myself getting a bit lonely and the inner critic pounces on me. Good to find a balance. I do appreciate my lovely online friends like you to help me feel good about myself again and less isolated.

Aren't quotes the best for inspiration? Will Smith is the best. Love his serious acting and his humour on that show he did in the 90s Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Also he is such a level headed guy, unfazed by all the Hollywood glitz.

Must read Shailaja's post that inspired you. That Shailaja is always inspiring in every way!
