I used to make animal sketches in pencil earlier, but when I learned ink drawing, especially the Mandala art, I got addicted to it.
So, last week, I decided to get back to sketching in pencil.
I have used HB, 2B, 4B, 6B and 8B pencils in the shading work.
Sharing today, 2 of the artworks – one, not so good, and the other that turned out pretty well, to my satisfaction – that I made today and yesterday.
The rest of this week, I plan on making some more pencil sketches of the young ones of animals.
October will bring with it the Annual Ink drawing festival — INKTOBER!
Are you participating in it? Do join along; I am sure you will have fun!
Here’s the official list of prompts shared by Jay Parker – the brainchild Β behind Inktober:
See you, guys!
Love,
SHILPA…
Pin it for later!

Thank you, Roshan!
You can do the half-marathon….draw on alternate days, or whenever you wish to. π

I liked both of your work, Shilpa. You havenβt been drawing much these days, have you? Good to see you back with your art work. I will attempt whenever I can for inktober. But my main problem is not good at drawing. Well, let me try anyway. Iβm on a mission to not let fear lead my path after all. ππ

They are so cute, specially the chimp. I remember some of your animal artwork and they were very impressive. Mandala can be very addictive. I can understand that π I myself can’t get over it.

Yes, Raj. Only an artist can understand how another artist feels! π

They are so cute, both of them, Shilpa! So glad you decided to get back to art again and oh, that nudge for Inktober is just what I needed. So much has happened since June that I’d completely forgotten about it. Would love to join in but not sure if I can. Still, keeping my options open…let’s see!
But, you keep practising, Shilpa! I’m so looking forward to your art through all of October!
Best wishes with the Challenge, my friend!

Thank you Esha! My art is what keeps me afloat β€
About Inktober, you can draw anytime you can, not necessarily everyday, but as per your convenience. All you need to do is, ENJOY! π
Love!

Thank you so much, Shalz! I want to try my hand at making realistic sketches like the ones some artists make of stuff like bottles, glasses and all. Let’s see how I manage that! π

Wow, these are so good! I wish I could make art like this, but I am terrible at sketching and painting, unless of course, you don’t mind abstract art. That I can kind of pull off π

Hehehe…Mahevash, abstract art is fine too, as long as it makes you feel good! π
